UltraTech Cement to deploy 600+ electric trucks by Dec 2026
UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group company, announced plans to scale up its electric vehicle fleet to over 600 heavy-duty electric trucks by December 2026. These trucks will transport approximately five million metric tons of clinker and other key materials annually across several Indian states. This initiative is expected to result in an annual CO₂ reduction of over 117,000 tonnes and displace 39 million liters of diesel. The company has signed service contracts with leading EV manufacturers like Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland. This move aligns with UltraTech's commitment to decarbonizing its value chain and achieving Net Zero goals, building on its earlier adoption of CNG trucks and existing green logistics operations.
