BALCO declared Preferred Bidder for Karlapat Bauxite Block

Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd's subsidiary, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), has been declared the 'Preferred Bidder' for the Karlapat Bauxite Block in Odisha. This follows BALCO's participation in an e-auction process initiated by the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Government of Odisha. The Karlapat Bauxite Block is at G2 level of exploration, covers 1,822.61 hectares, and has estimated mineral reserves of approximately 248 Million Tonnes. This acquisition is strategically important for the company's backward integration plans.
