Vikram Solar's 9 GW TOPCon Cell Plant on Track for Dec 2026
Vikram Solar Limited announced that its 9 GW N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu, is on schedule to produce its first cells in December 2026. This facility, one of India's largest single-site solar cell plants, marks Vikram Solar's transition from a module maker to an integrated manufacturer. At full capacity, it will supply high-efficiency TOPCon cells for the majority of Vikram Solar's module production, supporting domestic content requirements and global supply chain diversification. The plant is part of a three-phase integration roadmap at Gangaikondan, which includes a 6 GW module plant already operational and a planned 9 GW ingot and wafer facility targeted for FY29. The integrated campus will create over 2000 direct and indirect employments.
