BHEL Clarifies 1200kV Transformer News is Over a Decade Old

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has issued a clarification regarding recent online and social media circulation of news about its successful development of a 1200kV Transformer. BHEL stated that the testing of its 333 MVA 1150/400/33 kV single-phase auto Transformer was successfully completed in May 2011 and commissioned in January 2012. Additionally, the development of its 180 MVA/1200 kV Inhouse Testing Transformer and 500 MVA/765 kV Transformer occurred in 2011 and 2014, respectively. The company emphasized that this news is over a decade old and that BHEL has been a regular supplier of 765 kV Transformers and Reactors since 2014 and has been prepared for 1200 kV requirements since 2011.
