HCLTech and Transport for NSW explore AI for traffic insights

HCLTech has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to explore the integration of AI-powered analytics capabilities into the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS). This collaboration aims to enable traffic operators in India to query and analyze SCATS data using local Indian languages by integrating Sarvam's multilingual foundation models. The initiative will also address data sovereignty requirements, potentially allowing on-premises operation of SCATS AI infrastructure. SCATS, developed in 1975, is currently used in over 200 cities globally.
