KOEL and DEUTZ Forge Strategic Co-operation on 1.6L Engine Platform

Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) and DEUTZ have entered into a strategic co-operation agreement focused on the 1.6-litre engine platform. This partnership aims to expand KOEL's compact engine solutions into European and North American markets, complementing DEUTZ's existing drive portfolios. The collaboration leverages KOEL's engineering and manufacturing capabilities with DEUTZ's international sales and service network. The new engine series, R550, will offer naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions with power output ranging from 18 to 41.2 kW, complying with EU Stage V and US EPA/CARB Tier 4 emissions standards. This strategic move addresses market trends like downsizing and growing demand for compact, reliable power solutions in construction, material handling, and industrial machinery sectors.
