
Tata Power Renewables Commissions 72.5 MW Solar Project for Tata Steel
Tata Power Renewables (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company, has commissioned a 72.5 MW captive solar project in Rajasthan for Tata Steel Limited. This project, developed through TP Vardhman Surya Limited, will supply green energy to Tata Steel, offsetting approximately 1,18,856 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The project is expected to generate 166 MUs of green energy per year and utilizes 1,71,360 solar modules manufactured by TP Solar Limited. This initiative supports Tata Steel's decarbonization goals and strengthens TPREL's position in India's renewable energy sector, contributing to India's target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. TPREL's total renewable utility capacity now stands at 12.3 GW.
