Tata Power: APTEL remands MERC tariff order, potential ₹268 Cr impact

Tata Power Company Ltd has announced a litigation update regarding a dispute with the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC). The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) has ruled in favor of Tata Power, stating that MERC incorrectly disallowed Property Tax as an Uncontrollable O&M expense and disallowed Income Tax for FY 2007-08 to FY 2013-14. APTEL has remanded these issues back to MERC for a decision. The potential financial implication is approximately ₹268 crore, though the final amount will be determined after MERC's order.
