United Spirits Challenges FSSAI Order on Product Labeling

The FSSAI order pertains to the sale of a product manufactured at the company's Baramati Unit, citing non-conformance of product labels with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The company, based on legal advice, believes its labels comply with current regulations and industry practices. Currently, there are no material operational or financial implications. The matter is also being discussed with FSSAI by industry associations, CIABC and ISWAI, as it represents an industry-wide concern. The disclosure was delayed due to internal verification processes.
