Waaree ESS Launches India's First Automated BESS Container Facility

Waaree Energy Storage Solutions (Waaree ESS), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd, has commenced operations at India's first advanced automated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) container manufacturing facility. The facility boasts a capacity of 5.15 GWh, uprated from the initially planned 3.5 GWh due to production efficiencies and improved battery cell energy density. Equipped with Industry 4.0 technologies like AGVs and automated assembly lines, it aims to serve utility-scale and C&I applications. This facility is the first milestone in Waaree ESS's 20 GWh manufacturing roadmap, which also includes planned capacities for 3.5 GWh of lithium cell manufacturing and 5.15 GWh of battery pack manufacturing in the current financial year. This expansion supports India's clean energy goals and the 'Make in India' initiative by reducing reliance on imported technologies and offering locally manufactured, reliable energy storage solutions.
