Kriti Industries posts ₹2.21 Cr consolidated loss in Q1 FY27 as revenue falls 23% YoY

Kriti Industries reported a consolidated net loss of ₹2.21 Cr for Q1 FY27, reversing from a profit of ₹7.26 Cr in the year-ago quarter — a YoY swing of over 130% — as consolidated revenue fell 22.7% YoY to ₹173.11 Cr from ₹224.06 Cr. Sequentially, revenue rose 22.1% from ₹141.78 Cr in Q4 FY26, but PAT still swung negative from a ₹4.01 Cr profit that quarter, so the QoQ topline pickup did not translate into profitability. Standalone results mirror the consolidated print, with a ₹2.28 Cr loss on ₹173.11 Cr revenue — both entities loss-making this quarter, with no material divergence between the two. The loss stems from margin compression rather than any one-off charge: neither the current quarter nor the year-ago quarter carried exceptional items (unlike FY26's full year, which absorbed a ₹3.78 Cr exceptional loss from a fire-insurance claim settlement), so this is a core-operations miss, not an accounting distortion. Consolidated OPM compressed to roughly 3.1% from 6.74% a year ago and 10.40% last quarter, as revenue fell against largely fixed employee and depreciation costs; NPM turned negative from +3.23% a year ago. The result runs directly against management's own Q4 FY26 guidance of "healthy, above-average volume growth" in FY27 off a low FY26 base — that growth has not shown up in Q1, marking a miss against the company's own stated trajectory, while management's separately reaffirmed ₹1,000 Cr revenue target and H1 capex pause remain unaddressed in this filing. No formal street estimates for this quarter turned up in available coverage, so vsStreet is unknown — the stock does not appear to carry active brokerage tracking. Separately, the board used the same meeting to approve a fresh grant of 1,00,000 ESOPs at ₹67.62/share and to appoint Pradeep Shastri Vedula as CEO — a leadership change landing in the same quarter as the swing to loss, though the filing gives no operational rationale tying the two together.
