Nova Agritech Q1FY27: consolidated PAT flat YoY at ₹3.25 Cr despite 28% revenue growth

Nova Agritech's consolidated Q1 FY27 (quarter ended June 30, 2026) revenue rose 28.4% YoY to ₹60.02 Cr (₹46.75 Cr in Q1 FY26) and 7.3% QoQ (₹55.91 Cr in Q4 FY26), extending the recovery from FY26's fertiliser marketing authorisation licence lapse, which suspended biostimulant operations from mid-June 2025 until the licence was renewed on January 20, 2026, and cut full-year FY26 consolidated revenue 53% to ₹261.76 Cr. Consolidated PAT, however, was essentially flat YoY at ₹3.25 Cr (₹3.25 Cr a year ago) — profit did not scale with revenue, and net margin compressed to 5.40% from 6.93%. PAT jumped roughly 14x QoQ from Q4 FY26's depressed ₹0.22 Cr, but that base itself reflected the tail-end of the licence disruption, so the sequential move is a base-effect artifact rather than fresh momentum; YoY is the cleaner read since Q1 FY26 mostly predates the disruption. Basic EPS was ₹0.36 (consolidated), unchanged YoY. The margin compression traces mainly to depreciation, which more than tripled to ₹1.36 Cr from ₹0.41 Cr a year ago, alongside employee costs up 5.9% (₹5.63 Cr vs ₹5.31 Cr) and other expenses up 24.3% (₹6.53 Cr vs ₹5.26 Cr) — consistent with a business scaling operations back up post-disruption. Consolidated PBT margin fell to 6.51% from 8.37%. Standalone (parent-only) results diverge sharply: standalone revenue grew 80.2% YoY to ₹21.00 Cr and standalone PAT grew 188.6% YoY to ₹1.36 Cr, a materially stronger print. The gap implies the two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Nova Agri Sciences and Nova Agri Seeds, saw combined profit contract to roughly ₹1.88 Cr from roughly ₹2.77 Cr a year ago even as combined subsidiary revenue grew, dragging the group number to a flat print. Consolidated is the primary basis here, so the headline is the flat/compressed group result, though the standalone entity itself is growing profitably. No analyst consensus or brokerage preview was found for this print — at a ~₹214 Cr market cap, Nova Agritech carries negligible sell-side coverage, so vsStreet is unknown. Management has no formal guidance on record in our database, in this filing, or in public reporting found via search, so the quarter cannot be graded against a stated target; management's own framing in FY26 was that the licence-driven revenue decline was "temporary and not indicative of any structural weakness," and this quarter's YoY revenue recovery is broadly consistent with that claim, though the filing's brief notes do not address the flat consolidated profit or margin compression (no separate press release was available for this result). Corporate developments disclosed alongside the results — re-appointment of three directors, appointment of a new Company Secretary, and the AGM notice for September 26, 2026 — are governance matters unrelated to the quarter's financial performance. No exceptional items appear in either statement for any period shown.
