Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd (OMDC) has appointed Shri MNVS Prabhakar, Chairman & Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), as Non-Executive Chairman, effective May 25, 2026. This appointment follows a nomination from RINL, the ultimate holding company, and replaces Shri Manish Raj Gupta. Shri Prabhakar is not related to any Director of the Company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order passed by SEBI or any other such authority.

The Supreme Court of India dismissed two Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) filed by The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited (OMDC) against Jai Balaji Industries Ltd (JBIL). The SLPs, Diary no. 73842/2025 and Diary no. 73816/2025, were dismissed on May 8, 2026. The Government of Odisha has approved the extension of the Forest Clearance for Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.'s Bhadrasahi Iron & Manganese Mining Lease. The approval is valid until September 30, 2030, aligning with the extended mining lease period. He has rich and varied experience in many facets of Marketing and was awarded the prestigious Jawahar Nehru (JN) award in the year 2015 by the RINL management for his outstanding performance on the official front.
