South Indian Bank's Board of Directors has approved a panel of candidates, in order of preference, for the position of Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective October 01, 2026. This decision follows recommendations from the Search Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and is in accordance with the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and RBI norms. The bank will submit the candidate list to the Reserve Bank of India for approval, as per extant RBI regulations. Further disclosures will be made in due course.

Ms. Biji S S, Chief General Manager and Head of Branch Banking, Liabilities, Micro & Small Enterprises and Third Party Products of South Indian Bank, has opted for voluntary retirement due to personal reasons and to pursue other opportunities. Her last working day will be June 17, 2026, after serving the notice period. The bank has accepted her retirement and states that internal leadership is sufficient to ensure continuity.

South Indian Bank Ltd has revised its Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rates (MCLR) across various tenors, effective May 20, 2026. The revised rates are: Overnight MCLR at 7.95%, One-month MCLR at 8.40%, Three-month MCLR at 9.35%, Six-month MCLR at 9.40%, and One-year MCLR at 9.45%. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted approval to Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited for acquiring an aggregate holding of up to 9.99% of the paid-up share capital or voting rights in The South Indian Bank Limited. This approval is subject to compliance with the Banking Regulation Act, RBI guidelines, FEMA, SEBI regulations, and other applicable statutes.

South Indian Bank reported a net profit of ₹1,455.14 Cr for FY26, an 11.69% increase compared to ₹1,302.88 Cr in FY25. The bank achieved its highest-ever business of ₹2,23,620 Cr and operating profit of ₹2,373 Cr. The Board recommended a 45% dividend. Gross NPA dropped by 177 bps to 1.43%, and NNPA reduced by 63 bps to 0.29%. Retail deposits grew by 14.67%, and NRI deposits increased by 11.92%. Gross advances grew by 14.50%.
