NTPC Limited has appointed Dr. Som Nath Sachdeva as an Additional Director (Independent Director) to its Board, effective July 18, 2026. The appointment, approved by the Board via circulation, is based on an order from the Ministry of Power and is for a term of three years. Dr. Sachdeva, Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, brings over 39 years of experience in academics and research. He is not related to any existing directors and is not debarred from holding a directorship.

NTPC Ltd's subsidiary, THDC India Limited, has declared Commercial Operation Date (COD) for its 11 MWac Floating Solar Plant on the Raw Water Reservoir of Khurja STPP, effective July 17, 2026. This commissioning brings THDC India Limited's total installed and commercial capacity to 3,918 MW. Consequently, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has reached 90,965 MW, with a commercial capacity of 89,885 MW. This development is in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture of NTPC Limited, has successfully commissioned the final module of its Bhilai Floating Solar Power Station. The 5 MW (Island-2) module brings the total capacity of the floating solar project to 15 MW, which is now declared under commercial operation as of June 24, 2026. This commissioning event contributes to the NTPC group's total installed capacity reaching 90,904 MW and commercial capacity at 89,824 MW. The update was communicated by NSPCL via email on June 30, 2026, in accordance with SEBI regulations.

NTPC Ltd announced that the third and final part capacity of 41.6 MW from its Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana, has commenced commercial operation as of June 30, 2026. This brings the entire 176 MW project online, with the first two parts (100 MW and 34.4 MW) having started operations on May 2, 2026, and May 29, 2026, respectively. Following this commissioning, NTPC group's total installed capacity has reached 90,899 MW, with a commercial capacity of 89,819 MW. This expansion contributes to NTPC's overall renewable energy portfolio and installed capacity.

NTPC Ltd has announced the incorporation of its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC (Mauritius) Energy Limited, in Mauritius on June 26, 2026. The subsidiary has been established with an initial capital of MUR 1,000,000 (approximately INR 19,80,000). The primary objective of this new entity is to undertake the development of a proposed Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) Project with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and other power sector-related businesses in Mauritius. This strategic move aligns with NTPC's expansion plans in renewable energy and international markets.
